McDonald’s, the number one buyer of apples in the United States restaurant industry, recently took a break from flaunting its nonconformity to release the tracklist for its famed Dollar Menu. This is probably the most fucking exciting news to come out of McDonald’s headquarters in recent weeks.

Unlike the unusual offering of chicken for breakfast, the Dollar Menu, with items priced at just one dollar, appears to be aimed at a wider range of tasteful consumers and is available all day, not just for breakfast.

The forthcoming menu, which will be reviewed in these pages soon, features such delectably named tracks as “Double Cheeseburger,” “4 Pc. McNuggets,” and “Side Salad.”

With its 10 tracks, the Dollar Menu is the longest release fans have seen from McDonald’s recently, as the company has historically been a singles-oriented producer. In a move reminiscent of the poorly timed clusterfuck release of Radiohead’s The Best Of and In Rainbows, McDonald’s has chosen to release the Dollar Menu tracklist at the same time it has embarked on a tour promoting its new Southern Style Chicken. Go figure.

As if that weren’t enough, the team at McDonald’s is inundating its fans with yet another release, this one a complimentary-online-video-course on using the Dollar Menu to its fullest potential. I spoke with Dollar Menu spokesman and Menunaire Paul. Although he did not comment on the menu directly, he did say that he was “ridiculously smart and also pretty easy on the eyes.”
