    Blueberry Pop-Tarts

Fun Fact: Blueberry Pop-Tarts contain real blueberry
Recommended T.O.E.: During North American Pop-Tart week
    “Warm, gooey scrumptiousness.”

It’s been a busy and production week here at Snack You Silly headquarters. While weeding through the crate of Pop-Tarts Kellogg’s sent us, Jill and I decided to split a pack of the blueberry variety. (You wouldn’t believe how full you can get after only a couple hours of work here.) She said that if she were reviewing it, it’d be four stars, and that she thought it was the best kind of Pop-Tart. I said that it was maybe a two-starer and wasn’t quite as good as some other flavors.

Then I had a toasted one. That’s why they’re called Pop-Tarts, right? That’s the whole point. Holy shit, what a difference. The spackle-esque pastry suddenly seemed actually baked, and the filling turned from non-Jello to warm, gooey scrumptiousness. Freezing one had totally different effects on it, but made it just as delicious.

If they put these things in the freezer section and advertised them as to be re-heated or not, I think they’re be much more popular with the twelve and up demographic.

It’s not all glory, though. These things are terribly unhealthy, even for Snack You Silly standards. What’s scary about it is that a serving size is “one pastry,” but they come in satchels of two. After eating two in a row I felt a bit like vomiting.

The experience, in the end, though, is a positive one. This goes against Snack You Silly’s philosophy on food, but if you really want to enjoy a blueberry Pop-Tart, put a little effort in and prepare it.
