    Little Caesars Hot-N-Ready Large Pizza

Fun fact: Little Caesar was actually 6’2″
    Recommended T.O.E.: When in Rome

“A five-dollar large pizza can’t be quality food, right? Right!? Wrong.”

A few weeks ago I was jamming with some buds of mine. Now, the three of us being at or around the age of eighteen, by the time one o’clock in the morning rolls around so does our need for food. But as immediately as we came to the decision to get the aforementioned food, we realized that among the three of us we only had ten dollars. And absolutely no desire to drive far.

Something deep in the back of my brain awoke and called out to me: “Pizza! Pizza!” It hit me like a truck. Indeed, it was the motto for Little Caesars, which just happened to have a newly constructed establishment downtown. I recalled a friend’s raving cries about how you could get a large pizza there for five dollars. That’s right, one Mr. Lincoln = one Mr. Large Pizza.

The great thing about this pizza was that not only was it cheap, but it was fast. And I mean fast. Aptly dubbed the “Hot-N-Ready” deal, no sooner did I get done paying the cashier than were we immediately greeted with two large pizzas fresh out of the oven. Generally the rule of thumb for matters such as this is that you get what you pay for (which explains why Taco Bell is so bad), so a five-dollar large pizza can’t be quality food, right?

Wrong. In fact, all their pizzas have the same quality and great taste to them. Supreme, pepperoni, or even just good ol’ cheese are made to the highest standard.

If you ask me, pizza goes along with the saying, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” There’s really not that much room for innovation aside from say using organic versus store bought, adding untraditional toppings, and things like that. Little Caesars’ is just wonderful, basic pizza. Its cheese is really stringy as if to say, “Yes! Yes! Eat more of me! You can’t have enough!”

After one slice was done, I found my arm already outstretched going for another slice. But like any pizza, cheese isn’t the main piece of the puzzle. The bread seemed as soft as a freshly baked loaf - as I folded one slice, I saw how easily it met my desire. It was like it wanted to be folded. For me, this next component is the make-or-break of the slice: the sauce. In this instance, the sauce seemed to be portioned just right as now piece of this pie had too much or too little. It was the right amount to match the cheese and bread.

While the pizza is delicious, and I’ve gotten it several times since this first incursion, I still can’t say that this is a perfect 4/4. Yes, it is very good, especially for it’s price, but there are better places out there if you are really jonesin’ to add that extra little oomph to your meal, and don’t mind a longer wait and higher price. However should you hear about a new Little Caesars going into your area and don’t wanna break the bank for something as simple as a pizza, I strongly urge you to go.

Lil Caesars is my personal 1st choice when I’m getting a pizza. For $5 (some places in Texas are now $6) you just can’t go wrong…and it usually tastes better than most of the other large chain stores.
